Weekday lunches seem to be very popular with the over-50 crowd. This place must offer one heck of a senior discount. Or, perhaps this is just where they all fled to when the nearby Old Country Buffet closed.
Weekday lunch buffet is $8.
There was a pretty even mix of good and bad dishes. The spring rolls, black pepper chicken, rice noodles, and breaded chicken with peanut sauce were all excellent. The Generals chicken was mushy and not spicy at all. Fried rice was just okay and was oddly yellow. Some hits some misses. I didn't try the Mongolian BBQ/Grill. Don't come too early unless you want to eat yesterday's carryover.
It comes with all of the horrors of a buffet. People who grab for food with their hands. Food that falls outside the container and then is put back in. Small children (who are walking biohazards) left unattended and unwatched at the buffet. However, these are true of all buffets. So, either you accept that or you avoid the hell out of buffets. That's just the way it is.
Restaurant was too warm and too humid inside. It was like it was too warm for the furnace to be used, but not warm enough to kick the A/C on. So, it was just this stale stuffy experience.
Overall, an okay place. I won't seek it out, but I won't shout any objections if someone else in my group wants it. There's better Chinese food across Center at Panda House. -

Food is very good. The price is great as well. On a Saturday evening for 2 adults is was $19.?? and the soda was included in the price. The lo mein noodles are the best we have ever had at a buffet. Everything was fresh. My husband like the chicken on a stick. As others have said I would stay away from the ice cream though.

Have to say this is my favorite chinese buffet in Omaha. It was very clean and the staff was super friendly and attentive.
The food was fresh and hot. Very tasty. Dessert bar was full of goodies and they had a great choice in ice cream flavors.
Took the family there for Thanksgiving and they even had turkey and mashed potatoes on the bar. -

We've all been to Chinese Buffet's before...so I'll get to the good/bad/ugly-
Good: Peanut Chicken. Not sure what is so intoxicating about this oddity. It's literally a thin fried strip of chicken coated in peanut butter. I loved it...and it's so weird. Fried Dumplings...on point! Chicken wings-look like buffalo wings, but are really just fried chicken. Cooked perfectly! Mongolian Pork...excellent. Friendly staff!
Bad: Sesame chicken-soggy and tasteless. Egg/spring rolls- both mushy inside...a Chinese food standard fails here. Desserts fall short.
Ugly: They have self serve ice cream...like the 5 gallon tubs in a freezer that you serve yourself. The problem is...YOU SERVE YOURSELF!! Everyone has access to reach their hands INTO the bucket of ice cream. "Where have your hands been?" "Why is an 8 year old digging in the ice cream?". This is a fail on every level.
In the end, It's not for me...but give it a try. Your "ism's" may not be as bad as mine.
